Don't Complain

As you travel on our highways this holiday and when you see all the orange barrels, don’t complain that it has traffic bogged down and that you’re going to be late getting to your destination.
Think of it this way, those orange barrels represent people who are working in this state, people who are paying their bills, and spending money back into Michigan’s economy and think of it as our road system is being improved. How can we go wrong, this is a win win situation, and just slow down and enjoy the holiday on a improved highway system that is safer for you and your family.

Memorial Day parade

Today’s Memorial Day parade, was rainy and a little chilly, the clouds had covered the entire sky. However it was one of best civilian audience attended one that I remember for a long time. It did my heart good to see the public attendance again.A couple of years ago, the Honor Guard consisted of the mixed units of the local veteran’s originations as well as the Saginaw- Chippewa Honor Guard. That was really special, and I for one would love to see them combined again every year. Talk about solitary of the entire area.GOD BLESS ALL THE TROOPS

Pit Bulls and other Large Aggressive Dogs

Pit Bulls and other large aggressive dogs This morning as I do often I took our two small house dogs for a walk on their leash's. Today we were at Island Park and enjoying the early morning. I observed a couple who were walking/jogging with their large golden retriever on it's leash enjoying the exercise with it's family. Suddenly from out of no where a large pit bull came running towards the retriever and tried to attack it, but the male, kept it pretty much at bay from their pet. The Pit Bulls owner came running after it hollering it's name and giving it commands, which were not obeyed by the pit bull who continued to try and bite the retriever. Suddenly one of my small dogs barked at all the commotion and that got the attention of the pit bull who came running after my dogs. I pulled our dogs very close to me to protect them, and made up my mind, this pit bull would kill my dogs and I would not allow that to happen. It's owner was still trying to get a hold of this aggressive animal and continued to give it verbal commands and trying to make physical contact with it. Finally the owner grabbed it's collar and took change of the pit bull. This was avery close call for two different family pets and their owners. I do not understand why people continue to have these large aggressive animals, and then attempt to socialize them them with the general public, unleashed. But it doesn't matter what breed you have, common sense tells you to leash your dog when in public. If you really want that kind of attack animal, you really need to walk it or run it on your property. Just remember it's the law, and you can be sued for damages. By leashing your dog in public, you reduce that chance by 90%.
